We are working with a welcoming and well-respected specialist school in Theale that supports students aged 11-16 who come from difficult backgrounds. The students here struggle with significant trauma so the school are looking for a caring and empathetic Well-Being Support Assistant to join their dedicated team as soon as possible on a full-time, term-time basis.

The Well-being Support Assistant position is the perfect role for someone who wants to build experience in education, mental health, psychology, or youth support - all while positively impacting the lives of vulnerable young people.

Key Information for a Well-being Support Assistant

* Start Date: ASAP

* Hours: Full-time, 08:30-15:00 (Monday to Friday, term-time only)

* Pay: £85-£100 per day (depending on experience)

* Location: Theale

What You'll Be Doing as a Well-Being Support Assistant:

* Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis to manage their emotional wellbeing

* Working alongside teachers, SEN staff, and mental health professionals to create a nurturing learning environment

* Assisting with lesson planning and classroom activities

* Helping students develop coping strategies and positive behaviours

* Creating a safe space where students feel heard, respected, and encouraged

* Supporting pupils in building confidence, resilience, and independence

You could be a Well-being Support Assistant if you:

* Have a background or keen interest in mental health, psychology, or youth work

* Have strong communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach

* Are patient, resilient, and able to think on their feet

* Have a minimum of Grade C/Level 4 in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

* Want to gain practical experience supporting students with emotional and psychological needs
