Warehouse Operations Manager Essex 49k +10% bonus

Established for over 29 years and a member of a large international group, the company provides dynamic logistics delivering fully integrated warehousing, logistics and fulfilment solutions for the B2B, B2C and e-commerce sectors, delivering tailored and optimised

one-stop-shop, integrated e-fulfilment solutions to successfully run their clients’ online presence

The role

Reporting to the site General Manager, to manage 7 Team Leaders and 65 staff, including agency staff, up to 100 at peak.

To optimise all aspects of the Warehouse, including management of materials and labour.

Key responsibilities

To encourage and develop a culture where Health and Safety is first and foremost, ensuring the operation is legally and ethically compliant

Ensure all work equipment is clean, well maintained, safe and fit for purpose

Promotion of the effective team working by developing Team Leader roles

Proactively manage the culture and behavioural values to ensure that the Teams are well placed to respond to current and future customer demands and technical opportunities.

Ensure the operational flexibility is maintained so that innovation is not restricted

Understand, challenge and seek to improve on current “best practice”

To drive a continuous improvement philosophy within the Warehouse

Promote team ethics and develop team working through employee training and personal development

Ensure maximum utilisation of operational staff and equipment in achieving KPIs and optimal efficiency

Demonstrate behaviours where the quality of products and service are seen as central to the operation

To promote an environment that challenges the existing processes and strives for excellence through continuous improvement & flexibility

- Ideally, experience in managing e-commerce fulfilment operations in a fast paced environment

- Relevant significant experience within a B2C/B2B customer focused warehouse and distribution environment

- Previous Technical/Systems experience within a similar environment ideally within a multi-user site

- Ideally, experience of managing a warehousing and fulfilment environment

- Have a good understanding of WMS/WCS functionality

- Have a good understanding of the engineering of warehouse order fulfilment processes

- Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
