Penguin Recruitment is proud to be supporting a leading residential developer in the search for a Town Planner to join their in-house planning team at their Ruislip office.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing regional planning function within a well-established housebuilder, working on a wide range of residential-led developments across London and the South East. You'll play a key role in promoting and delivering sites from acquisition through to planning consent, and gain exposure to all aspects of the development process.

The Role

Working closely with Land, Technical and Design teams, you will help assess the planning potential of sites, prepare and submit planning applications, and liaise with local planning authorities and stakeholders. This is an ideal opportunity for a Planner looking to step into the client-side or for someone already in a developer environment seeking greater responsibility and regional focus.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Assist in identifying and appraising potential development opportunities from a planning perspective

*

Support the preparation and submission of planning applications, including outline, full, and reserved matters

*

Draft planning statements, design and access statements, and other supporting documentation

*

Liaise with local authorities, consultants and internal departments to manage planning applications and appeals

*

Monitor Local Plan updates and identify strategic land opportunities

*

Attend public consultations, planning committee meetings and stakeholder sessions as required

*

Maintain awareness of national and local planning policy changes and advise on implications

Requirements:

*

RTPI-accredited degree in Planning or a related field

*

MRTPI or working towards chartered status

*

1-4 years' experience in a planning role (either consultancy, developer, or local authority)

*

Strong understanding of the UK planning system and residential planning process

*

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

*

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

*

Confident engaging with local authorities and external stakeholders

Why Apply?

*

Join a reputable and successful residential developer with an extensive land bank

*

Gain hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle

*

Competitive salary with strong benefits package

*

Supportive environment with clear career progression opportunities

*

Hybrid working model with office based in Ruislip

If you're a driven and commercially aware Planner looking to take the next step in your career with a leading name in residential development, we'd love to hear from you.
