Senior Continuing Healthcare Retrospective Nurse Assessor

We are currently working with a local NHS Trust who are seeking a Senior CHC Retrospective Nurse Assessor to join their All Age CHC Team in Birmingham and Solihull.

Hybrid Working- both patient facing visits in the BSOL area across 5 days and some home working

6 month initial contract with the view of extension

Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm

£300 - £320 per day (Inside IR35)

Key responsibilities:

* Work as part of the CHC Retrospective Review and Appeal Team and will be responsible for providing clinical expertise on reviewing both previously unassessed and assessed periods of care.

* Review CHC appeals and CHC retrospective review requests to ensure that the NHS Continuing Healthcare processes have been adhered and identify the responsible commissioner prior to commencing any dispute or retrospective review process

* Produce comprehensive reports identifying a patients journey throughout the period of review.

* Work closely with the appeals coordinator working remotely and autonomously gathering evidence and information to populate the assessments.

Requirements:

* Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin.

* Experience of undertaking retrospective CHC assessments working understanding of PUPOC and responsible commissioner guidance.

* Demonstrate experience in assessing patients, having completed a checklist and/or participated in a Multi-Disciplinary team meeting using the National Framework for Continuing Healthcare.

* Excellent understanding and working knowledge of National Framework of NHS Continuing Healthcare and relevant assessment and decision making tools including Standards and Regulations.
