Location: Mansfield, Nottinghamshire
Start Date: September 2025
Pay Scale: Between £182.94 to £251.71 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
Academics (an education agency) are proud to partner with welcoming and inclusive primary schools in Mansfield. We are seeking an experienced and passionate SENDCO to join a leadership team from September 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
About the Role
As the SENDCO, you will lead the school's SEND provision, ensuring an inclusive and high-quality education for all pupils. You will work closely with teachers, senior leaders, parents, and external agencies to develop effective strategies that support children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school, ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice
*
Advise and support teaching staff in implementing inclusive classroom strategies
*
Maintain and review EHCPs, pupil progress records, and SEND tracking systems
*
Liaise with parents, external agencies (e.g., Educational Psychologists, Speech & Language Therapists, Local Authority services)
*
Attend and contribute to SEND reviews, annual reviews, and multi-agency meetings
*
Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions and support programmes
The ideal candidate will:
*
Be an experienced SENDCO with a proven track record in primary education
*
Hold the National Professional Qualification for SENCOs (NPQ SENCO or be willing to complete it)
*
Have an in-depth understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation
*
Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
*
Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
