Academics are working closely with a fantastic specialist school in Tilehurst that supports children and young people aged 3-19 with a range of complex needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges. They are seeking a dedicated and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join their caring and committed team as soon as possible on a full-time basis. This school prides itself on creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes independence, confidence, and a love for learning. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both students and teachers to ensure every child can access a meaningful education.

Key Information - SEN Teaching Assistant:

* Location: Tilehurst

* Pay: £85-£100 per day (dependent on experience)

* Hours: Full-time (08:30-15:00, Term-time only)

* Start date: ASAP

You could be an ideal SEN Teaching Assistant if you:

* Have a genuine interest in working with children and young people with additional needs

* Are calm, resilient, and nurturing in your approach

* Hold a minimum Grade C/Level 4 in GCSE Maths and English

* Have prior experience working with children or in a school/SEN setting

* Are looking to build a career in special education, psychology, or therapeutic support

Day-to-Day Responsibilities of an SEN Teaching Assistant:

* Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis in class and during interventions

* Assisting with planning and delivering engaging, accessible lessons

* Helping students to develop communication, social, and life skills

* Managing and responding to emotional and behavioural needs appropriately

* Contributing to a safe, structured, and supportive classroom environment
