We're working with a progressive secondary school in Welwyn Garden City seeking a passionate SEMH Teaching Assistant, specifically supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

The Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant

* Support students aged 11-16 with a range of SEMH needs, helping them thrive emotionally and academically

* Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external specialists to provide holistic support

* Deliver tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions that build resilience, emotional regulation, and self-confidence

* Act as a consistent and positive role model, helping students re-engage with education in a safe, supportive setting

What We're Looking For

* A recent graduate in psychology or criminology (2:1 or higher preferred)

* Genuine interest in working with vulnerable young people and understanding complex behavioural needs

* Empathetic, patient, and confident in building strong, trusting relationships

* Commutable to Welwyn Garden City on a daily basis

* Previous experience working with young people (paid or voluntary) is beneficial but not essential
