Production Operative

Location: Northampton (NN4)

Salary: £14.43 per hour

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 1:30pm - 12:00am

Impact Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a leading manufacturer to recruit a Production Operative. This is a hands-on role responsible for the accurate preparation, mixing, and handling of chemical batches in accordance with strict safety protocols, production schedules, and quality standards. The successful candidate will play a vital part in achieving daily production targets and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

*

Accurately weigh, measure, and mix chemical ingredients in accordance with batch manufacturing instructions and production plans.

*

Follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

*

Support the safe offloading of tankers, including those carrying hazardous or flammable substances.

*

Maintain accurate stock control records and participate in routine stock takes.

*

Ensure a high standard of cleanliness and organisation in all work areas.

*

Operate within all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) guidelines and company policies.

*

Conduct regular audits, including tank level readings and batch testing.

*

Carry out in-process quality checks and report any non-conformances to the Quality Assurance team.

*

Complete and maintain accurate batch documentation and inventory records, including data entry into the stock control system.

*

Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and ensure product integrity.

Requirements:

Essential:

*

Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, ideally with chemical products.

*

Strong awareness of health, safety, and quality standards in a process-driven setting.

*

Competent in reading and following detailed instructions with good numeracy and literacy skills.

*

Basic IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Desirable:

*

Experience working in a COMAH-regulated environment.

*

Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.

*

Valid Forklift Truck (FLT) licence.
