Painter and Decorator - Cambridge 

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £33,120

Hours – Monday to Friday 8AM – 5PM

A fantastic opportunity to work for a leading M&E Service Provider who are recruiting for a Painter and Decorator based in Cambridge. This role is offering a salary of £33,120 depending on experience, also offering many opportunities to progress within the industry. Our client is the biggest FM company in Europe and have 77,500 people working across large, diverse, blue-chip customer bases, from banks and retailers, to hospitals, schools and critical government strategic assets.

Rota as follows

07.00– 16.00 Monday to Thursday, 08.00 – 17.00 Friday,  followed by

10.00 – 19.00 Monday to Thursday, 08.00 – 17.00 Friday

Duties:

- Working with clients to ensure they complete the work according to the requirements

- Measuring the work area to calculate the time and materials required to complete the project

- Preparing the surrounding area, including covering fixtures and furniture to prevent messes

- Preparing painting surfaces, including removing old paint, filling holes and cracks and washing walls

- Choosing the tools to complete the job

- Mixing and matching paints and colours to meet the texture and look required for the project

- Applying paint, varnishing and other finishes, hanging wallpapers and other decorative products

- Cleaning up painting tools and supplies, replacing fixtures and rearranging furniture after completing the project

- Collaborating with painters on other larger jobs

Requirements:

- City & Guilds in either Bricklaying, Plastering, Tiling, Painting and Decoration

- Strong Joinery/Fabric background being able to demonstrate via relevant trade apprenticeship and relevent City & Guilds Qualification(s)

- Able to demonstrate Health & Safety capability via previous qualifications & experience.

- Able to demonstrate experience in building fabric maintenance

- Honest, hardworking, and reliable

- Fully conversant with fabric repairs and maintenance

- Experience of maintaining the fabric of a building within a commercial environment

- Clean Driving License

- Excellent customer service skills
