A fantastic role has arisen for a Management Accountant to join a large successful company based in Manchester. This role offers excellent hybrid working options and progression opportunities
Responsibilities:
* Manage and oversee cost accounting processes, including the preparation of cost-related month-end journals and reporting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company policies.
* Support the completion of month end cost processes and the timely delivery of month-end outputs. Ensure that all relevant cost data is accurately recorded and reported, in line with financial governance standards.
* Monitor cost-related accounting processes to ensure compliance with internal controls, and escalate any risks or issues to the Cost Senior Financial Accountant. Propose and implement actions to mitigate identified risks.
* Provide cost analysis and financial insights for month end reporting and to the Commercial Finance team as needed, ensuring that cost data is accurately reflected and easily accessible for decision-making.
* Assist the Cost Senior Financial Accountant with ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting tasks, and cost-related projects. Provide strategic recommendations and operational support as required.
* Contribute to the identification and implementation of improvements in cost reporting, accounting processes, and system automation. Continuously strive to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cost-related financial operations.
Requirements:
* Candidates who are qualified in or currently pursuing a professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, CIMA, or ACA preferred.
* Sound understanding of finance or accounting roles, with a focus on balance sheet management, reconciliations, and cash management.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, and cash flow management strategies.
* Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g, Workday) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights to stakeholders.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
