Health & Safety Coordinator - Great Yarmouth - £30-35,000 pa
We have a vacancy for a client wishing to recruit a top flight Health & Safety Coordinator for their State of the Art Great Yarmouth manufacturing site.
The successful applicant will communicate Health and Safety policies and procedures effectively and quickly to all levels across the organisation. Develop, implement and maintain compliance with Health, Safety and Environment Legislation and current best practice. Conduct accident, Incident & near miss investigations, compiling full analysis and written reports, as well as planning improvement actions. In addition you will carry out task risk assessments and audits, SOP and policy reviews as necessary and advise on risks and other issues. Carry out non-task risk assessment for areas such as manual handling, DSE and COSHH. Deliver Health and Safety services in areas such as, Safe use and storage of Chemicals, Risk Assessments and Auditing, Lone Working, Nitrogen safety, Legionella safety, and Non-Ionising Radiation safety (Class 3B Laser). Produce CoSHH Asessments, and help review Finished Product Safety Data Sheets and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
You will be a consummate communicator and be able to work effectively with managers to build strong relations. You will review RAMS for both internal staff and sub-contractors and have a good understanding of RIDDOR and other similar legislations. Organise specialist training e.g. spillage response, fork lift, fire marshal and first aid refreshers. Understand and advise on key regulations PUWER, DSEAR, COSHH.
To be considered for this important role you will be a Health & Safety professional. By this we mean it won't have been something tacked onto your responsibilities in another role. You will have 2/3 years HSE experience in a manufacturing environment in which GMP is practised and a relevant H&S qualification e.g. NEBOSH. Knowledge of Chemical regulations would be desirable.
The role commands a competitive starting salary of £30-35,000 per annum plus benefits.
