Graduate Planner

Location: Peterborough (Travel to developments will be required)

The Role

As a Planning Graduate you will work with the Land and Planning teams getting involved at the first stage of the build process to acquire land for development with a view of building quality homes and communities.

There will be a variety of exciting projects to work on, helping develop your knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities

* Assisting planning colleagues to complete appraisals for potential immediate and strategic development opportunities.

* Assisting Planning colleagues in the co-ordination and preparation of planning applications and then maintaining involvement throughout the planning process.

* Management of minor variation, condition clearance, pre-application advice and section 106 obligation discharge applications.

* Coordination of public engagement exercises and liaison with key stakeholders and community groups.

* Developing relationships with Local Planning Authorities and industry professionals.

* Assistance in maintaining a Local Planning Authority Monitoring database.

Skills and Experience

* RTPI accredited course

* Related work experience beneficial

* Well organised, with excellent attention to detail

* Strong verbal, numerical and report writing skills

* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish relationships with a variety of clients

* Team player: demonstrating an ability to integrate and function within a busy, multi-disciplinary team and wider business / office.

* Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and have good time management skills

* Highly motivated, with a desire to progress, deliver high standards of work

The successful Graduate Planner will preferably hold an MRTPI accredited degree with a willingness to proceed through the APC process (to be supported by the Planning team).
