Location               Warrington

Salary:                  £50,000 - £60,000 + Company car / allowance

Hours:                   M-F 8am- 5.30pm (45hrs)

About the Fleet Engineer Role

We are currently seeking an HGV Fleet Engineer to join our team in Warrington. This role is ideal for a candidate with an HGV haulage or workshop background who will work closely with the Company Fleet Manager to ensure the efficient management and maintenance of our fleet.

You will need to have experience gained in a similar role working for a national or international haulage company (Hire & Reward) to be considered for this role

As an HGV Fleet Engineer, you will be responsible for auditing, inspecting, and maintaining our fleet to ensure compliance with industry standards. You will also liaise with vendors, oversee parts and tyre stock management, and provide technical support to the fleet department. This role requires a proactive approach to vehicle safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities of the Fleet Engineer

- Be responsible for a fleet of circa 1000 assets to include Trucks and Trailers

- Conduct audits on drivers' walk-round checks to ensure compliance.

- Perform post-inspection audits on vehicles and trailers.

- Visit and audit vendors across the UK and Ireland, investigating and resolving any failures.

- Fit and manage trailer tracking systems.

- Support the Fleet Manager in all fleet department activities.

- Inspect hire equipment to ensure it meets operational standards.

- Manage parts and tyre stock efficiently.

- Carry out minor running repairs as required.

- Oversee purchase orders for fleet maintenance and repair.

- Provide occasional hands-on assistance when necessary.

- Participate in the emergency on-call rota for breakdowns and accident management.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience required for the Fleet Engineer

- Proven experience as a Fleet Engineer in the HGV Sector

- Experience gained in similar role working for a national or international haulage company

- Hire & Reward experience

- It would be highly beneficial to come from a tools background to have the technical HGV knowledge required

- IT literate with the ability to maintain records and reports.

- Strong organisational and management skills.

- Experience in a multi-depot organisation.
