As the Financial Controller / Qualified Accountant you will oversee the organisation’s financial operations and ensure sound financial management practices.

Working as the Financial Controller / Qualified Accountant you will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and internal controls.

DUTIES

Your duties as a Financial Controller / Qualified Accountant will include:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare timely and accurate financial statements

• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements

• Coordinate the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Develop annual budgets in collaboration with department heads and senior management

• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and recommendations

• Forecast financial results and provide insights to support strategic decision-making

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and identify opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement

• Analyse financial trends, key performance indicators (KPIs), and key financial metrics

• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management

Cash Management:

• Manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and financial obligations

Compliance and Internal Controls:

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards

• Establish and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud

Financial Systems and Processes:

• Evaluate and enhance financial systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy

• Implement best practices in financial management and reporting

• Provide training and support to finance staff on financial systems and procedures

Leadership and Team Management:

• Lead and mentor the finance team

• Foster a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement within the finance department

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve organisational goals and objectives

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements

• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; experience with Sage 200

• Advanced Excel and modelling skills

• Knowledge and Experience of PowerBI and PowerQuery desirable

• Experience and expertise in Costing

• Ability to make independent decisions and methodically solve routine problems

• Knowledge of CIS and reverse charge VAT legislation

• Experience of facilities/real estate and/or the building management industry

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
