My client, a large, innovative Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Drainage Engineer to join their experienced team of experts, based in the lively city of Leeds.

Essential Criteria:

- A Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field

- Extensive relevant experience within infrastructure

- Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers or similar professional body (or working toward this)

- Experience of producing Flood Risk Assessments and SUDS

- Good understanding of Pre-Planning Advice

- Experience of drainage and highway design, aligned to agreements S38, S278, and S104

- Working knowledge of MicroDrainage WinDES, and other, similar software packages

- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)

It would also benefit applicants for the role of Drainage Engineer to possess the following skills:

- Working knowledge of the AutoCAD and Civil 3D software packages

- An understanding of Tuflow and HEC-RAS

In the busy role of Drainage Engineer, you will join a specialist team of experts in the field, with opportunities to develop your career whilst working to attain a professional qualification. The role will involve a variety of interesting responsibilities, including:

- Conducting studies around pre-purchase feasibility, and resolution of planning conditions within draining and highways

- Undertaking Flood Risk Assessments

- Preparing calculations and drawings for adoptable highways and drainage, aligned to Building Control, NHBC, S278, S38, S104, and other such agreements

- Producing 3D ground models for vertical road profiles, volume calculations, and more

- Liaising with clients and other stakeholders, e.g. Environment Agency, Water Authorities, Local Highway Authorities, etc.

- Contributing to and managing projects
