CAD Technician / Draughtsperson who has a background in sheet metal/structural steel and knowledge of drawing and nesting using SigmaNEST / Steel Projects, is required for a well-established company based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
SALARY: Competitive Salary (dependant on experience) + Benefits (see below)
LOCATION: Barnsley, South Yorkshire (S72) – 100% Office Based
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 3.45pm Friday
JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a CAD Technician / Draughtsperson who has a background in sheet metal/structural steel and knowledge of drawing and nesting using SigmaNEST / Steel Projects.
Working as the CAD Technician / Draughtsperson you will be responsible for drawing and nesting to customer supplied details on various CNC machines using SigmaNEST / Steel Projects. Additionally, there will be administrative duties to be carried out making sure all paperwork is issued correctly.
As the CAD Technician / Draughtsperson you will be part of an integral team who are operating in a high volume, fast paced environment. You must have an enthusiastic, can-do attitude with a good work ethic and pay attention to detail.

DUTIES
Your duties as the CAD Technician / Draughtsperson will include:
• Nesting on profile packages, SigmaNEST / Steel Projects
• Liaising with departments to agree design details
• Responding to production queries
• Producing and revising quality 2D CAD Layout drawings
• Preparation of production documentation once drawings approved
• Management of multiple projects
• Assisting colleagues with technical support
• Take responsibility for nesting work to the agreed project programmes
• Responsible for drawings issues and daily housekeeping in terms of both digital and hard copy project file storage
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to use SigmaNEST and Steel Projects would be of a distinct advantage
• A background in sheet metal / structural steel
• Previous industry experience as a CAD technician
• A flexible, proactive attitude
• Able to work methodically and accurately
• Excellent communication & organisation skills
• Be able to priorities work to meet production deadlines
• Strong numeracy and computer skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
