We are seeking a Brokerage Officer (Children's Services / Placements) for a Local Authority Client based in East London.
In this role, you will ensure the best outcomes for children and young people by assessing their placement and service needs, delivering a customer-focused duty service, and providing quality assurance to match their needs with available services.
About the role:
You will be tasked with delivering key strategic objectives:
* Assess and match children and young people's placement and service needs with available services.
* Quality assures information to facilitate suitable matches between children's needs and providers.
* Monitor contracted services for allocated children in compliance with regulations and policies.
* Ensure value for money in meeting the needs of children, young people, and their families.
* Offer commissioning advice at care/placement focused meetings.
* Review and make recommendations for placements falling below regulatory standards.
About you:
The successful candidate will have the following skills / experience:
* Experience in commissioning, purchasing, and contracting within a social care or similar setting.
* Experience in assessing risk and managing plans to safeguard children.
* Proven track record of negotiating with providers to deliver positive outcomes for children and young people.
* Experience in managing stakeholder interests and building effective working partnerships.
What's on offer
Salary: £21+per hour
*may negotiate higher for exceptional candidates, based on experience*
Contract type: 3-6 months minimum, with a high likelihood of extension
Hours: Monday - Friday, 36 hours per week
