Boarding House Support Assistant

Location: Wymondham, Norfolk

Salary: £23,893 per annum (Pro Rata £19,303 per annum)

Job Type: Term Time Only, 38.75 hours per week

The Role

They are looking for Boarding House Support Assistants, who will be responsible for the welfare and behaviour of students when in the Boarding House during the day.

Skills and Experience

The personal competencies expected of all College support staff are:

* The ability to communicate clearly and tactfully using appropriate methods and an awareness of the impact of your own communication on others.

* Able to maintain positive relationships with all and able to work as an effective and flexible part of a team; willing to change methods of work and routines to benefit the team.

* Willingness to accept responsibility for your own actions; the ability to prioritise effectively, meet deadlines and accept challenges.

The personal competencies expected of a Student Supervisor are:

* Approachable but authoritative

* Professional, conscientious, and able to act with discretion

* Able to work upon your own initiative in a calm and patient manner

* Self-motivated, efficient and practical

The qualifications and previous experience required for a Boarding House Support Assistant are:

* A good level of literacy and numeracy

* Previous experience in a role working with young people

* Previous experience of dealing with attendance or safeguarding issues (Desirable but is in no way essential)
