Location: Bournemouth or Reading

A leading UK engineering consultancy is seeking a Principal or Associate Sustainability Consultant (Energy) to join its thriving team in Bournemouth or Reading. This consultancy is known for its human-centric and environmentally conscious approach, delivering intelligent, sustainable design solutions across a wide range of projects in the built environment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Lead and deliver complex sustainability and energy projects across multiple sectors

* Manage project teams, set priorities, and report on resourcing needs

* Mentor junior consultants and review technical outputs

* Support fee proposal preparation, budgeting, and invoicing

* Conduct modelling and analysis, including:

* Operational energy use

* Embodied carbon and circular economy strategies

* Building performance simulation

* On-site energy generation

* Overheating and thermal comfort assessments

* Oversee the development of sustainability and energy strategies

* Lead delivery of environmental assessments such as BREEAM, WELL, and HQM

The ideal Principal/Associate Consultant will have experience in:

* Energy strategies and low-carbon building design

* Building Regulations Part L assessments (e.g., using Elmhurst, IES)

* Thermal modelling and overheating risk analysis

* In-use energy modelling and performance gap analysis

* Support for planning applications with environmental input

* Net-zero carbon strategy development
