The Role

Our client is one of Scotland's leading mental health charities, providing a wide range of community based, recovery focussed mental health services. They're proud pioneers in the peer movement, with 20% of their colleagues employed in peer support roles. They are looking for you to jointly oversee a block of supported flats, and some people out in their own flats in the local community. The Assistant Service Manager will encourage and motivate the team, but above all; they will support the team to deliver outcomes for the people that they support, which can be something as practical as managing their own tenancy and immediate surroundings, or maybe medication, to making friends and sustaining relationships, or to the extent of supporting someone to look for work or even volunteering opportunities and eventually move into their own tenancy in Aberdeen.

Key Responsibilities

* Collaborate with the Support Manager in the referral/selection process of users of the service.

* Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of support plans for all supported people, ensuring that they are involved in decisions about their own support.

* Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other professionals involved in the support of supported people.

* Assist supported people to be involved in decisions affecting them in relation to their own support and the running of the project.

* Assist supported people to participate in occupational and leisure activities.

* Assist in the management of the support team in relation to work, practice, conduct, absence, supervision, support and the identification of training needs.

* A pioneering charity supporting people on their journey to better mental health

* Assist in the induction of new employees and in the recruitment process where required.

* Assist the Service Manager to adequately deploy staff to meet the support needs of supported people.

* Assist in the monitoring and administration of the project budget and accounts.

* Ensure that all financial and other records are maintained accurately, and that all reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.

* Provide direct support to supported people.

* Assist with any further tasks or projects as required.

Skills and Qualifications

* Well organised,

* Have good communication skills and be adept in either being able to use a hand-held device or computer for recording and reporting.

* You will be expected to work towards the quality standards set by the Care Inspectorate and align with the values set down by the SSSC.

* Registration would be required for both Care at Home and Housing Support and you should already have your SVQ level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent, as defined by the SSSC.

* They are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic individual who is motivated to lead and supervise members of the team, someone who doesn't mind rolling their sleeves up, who has a 'can do' attitude and gets involved on a daily basis.
