Are you passionate about land acquisition and planning? Do you have a keen eye for identifying development opportunities and navigating the planning system? We are looking for an Assistant Land & Planning Manager to join a leading land promotion business that specialises in unlocking the potential of strategic land across the UK.
The Role:
As an Assistant Land & Planning Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the management of a regional portfolio of land interests. You will be responsible for identifying new land opportunities, assessing their suitability for promotion, and assisting in securing acquisitions. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly experienced team and gain exposure to the entire project lifecycle, from acquisition to planning and disposal.
Key Responsibilities:
* Land Sourcing & Acquisition: Identify and assess new strategic land opportunities through networking, research, and proactive site searching.
* Planning & Strategy: Monitor Local Authority policies, housing needs, and planning frameworks to inform decision-making.
* Project Management: Support in managing existing land interests, liaising with internal teams and external consultants to progress sites through the planning system.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, and industry professionals.
* Market Research: Stay up to date with emerging planning policies, housing delivery metrics, and appeal decisions.
* Data Management: Maintain accurate records of land opportunities, ownership details, and project milestones.
What We're Looking For:
* A degree in a relevant subject (Planning, Property, Real Estate, Geography, or similar).
* Experience within the property and land industry (land promotion, housebuilding, planning, or development).
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to assess land opportunities.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Strong research and analytical skills, including experience with GIS and online research tools.
* Ability to work independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment.
* A full UK driving licence (preferred).
