Assistant Air Quality Consultant - Bristol - £26,000 to £33,000 + Benefits + TOIL

A UK-based Environmental Consultancy is looking to recruit an Assistant Air Quality Consultant to join their expanding team in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career consultant to support the delivery of air quality assessments, dispersion modelling, and environmental reporting across a wide range of planning and infrastructure projects.

Essential Criteria:

A BSc or MSc in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or a related discipline.

*

1-3 years' experience in an environmental or air quality consultancy role.

*

Knowledge of UK air quality legislation and planning frameworks.

*

Strong communication and report writing skills.

*

A full UK driving licence.

Desirable Criteria:

*

Experience with air dispersion modelling tools (e.g., ADMS, AERMOD).

*

Familiarity with LAQM, EIA, or DMRB assessments.

*

Previous involvement in project management or client liaison.

*

Comfortable with data handling, GIS, or environmental monitoring tools.

The Role:

You will support senior consultants in the delivery of air quality and emissions assessments for residential, commercial, and infrastructure developments. This will include a mix of desk-based modelling, report writing, and occasional fieldwork, with full support and training to progress your technical and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

Assisting with air quality modelling and interpretation.

*

Supporting the preparation of reports for planning and permitting.

*

Undertaking monitoring and data collection when required.

*

Managing project deadlines and maintaining technical accuracy.

*

Collaborating with internal teams and clients on active projects.

This is a full-time, Bristol-based role, offering flexible working arrangements, a competitive salary (£26,000-£33,000), pension scheme, performance-related bonus, and a Time-Off-In-Lieu (TOIL) policy in place of paid overtime-ensuring work-life balance during busy project periods.
