ABA Class Lead

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (plus mandatory training until 5:00 PM one day per week)

Term: Term Time Only

Reports to: Consultant BCBA

Location: West London (multiple sites)

The Role:

To manage a class of six pupils and lead a team of six ABA/VB Tutors, promoting a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment using Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behaviour (VB) principles.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management

* Supervise, train, and review performance of ABA/VB Tutors.

* Conduct tutor inductions and deliver ongoing training using Behavioural Skills Training.

* Monitor data collection, program books, and learning progress.

* Coordinate classroom resources and budget.

* Lead on new pupil assessments, reports, IEP reviews, and termly evaluations.

Support for Pupils

* Act as primary contact for parents and monitor home-school communication.

* Deliver 1:1 and group instruction using ABA/VB.

* Develop IEPs and daily timetables with other professionals.

* Monitor and adapt pupil programs, behaviour support plans, and progress data.

* Support personal care, social skills, and independence.

Support for the School

* Promote positive behaviour and lead on conflict resolution.

* Supervise pupils during non-classroom times and off-site activities.

* Ensure classroom hygiene and safety.

* Contribute to whole-school events and community-based learning.

Professional Development

* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ABA/VB practices.

* Work towards a master's degree and BCBA or related certification.

Requirements

* Committed to further study in ABA, psychology, or a related field.

* Aim to achieve behaviour analyst certification (BCBA/UKBA/BCaBA).

* At least 2 years' experience working with children with special needs.

* Strong understanding of ABA principles and evidence-based interventions.

* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

* Ability to manage challenging behaviour and support personal development.

* Trained in crisis intervention and de-escalation preferred.
